An Interesting Day

I'm pretty tired at the moment so it won't be a long blog post but I'll amuse with a lot of pictures from today:) Today was an interesting day. The first round was busy with quite a few thrushes and some warblers. The rounds after were slow, so we were expecting a slow day.. not surprising after a whole night of rain.. But apparently there were clearly birds moving because after 10.00 we started to catch more birds and the last few rounds were pretty decent! Of a few species we had the good numbers; such as Philadelphia Vireo, with 6 trapped. Same goes for Black-and-White Warbler with 3 trapped. Blue-headed Vireos were also visible again, with 2 trapped. Also, we trapped the first Winter Wren of the season, a familiar bird, little squirmer! A Blue Jay was also really kind and totally sprayed me, my camera, shirt and hands were covered, thanks! We ended the day with 172 birds, spread over 36 species; the highest number of species so far this fall!
